A story of the Womb
Remembering the story of the womb that sings the song of Life/Death/Rebirth. A tale as old as time.
The womb is an echo. Singing a song heard many times before. The rhythms that she moves through are alive in all things. It is the core, the spiral. The seed from which all grows. The womb sings of life and death and rebirth. As the sparrow sings. As the plants bloom, wither and die. As the moon swells and shrinks. Do you hear it? This living song. The womb then, opens as a gift, for she offers us this cyclical remembrance. An ancient code. An opportunity to sink deeper into this embodiment.
The cycle of life/death/rebirth is a living intelligence. A rhythm that is right there in front of our eyes to see. Embodying all that is birthed into life, and melts back into death. It is all that rises high up to the sky, and comes back down to the earth. It is the middle path that embraces the swinging of the pendulum. A reminder that life is in constant flux, and our death only leads us deeper into our rebirth. Transformed. That is the evolution of our soul. To die and be reborn again and again a little different each time. A little more in truth. A little deeper into love. A little wider into wisdom.
When we work with our womb as a teacher, we may be more fully supported in this inevitable process that moves us through life/death/rebirth. For every month, we are guided through those chambers and initiated into their ways. As we emerge out of our bleedings times, we are new and radiant. Freshly birthed out of the chambers of the blood mysteries and emerging into the world a little bit different than before. As we rise more fully into our ovulation, our hormones, our energy, our mental capacities are at their peak. We are fully embodied within our attachments to this earthly realm. We relish in the gifts of abundance and pleasure it brings us. We are touched by the light. Close to the heavens. Soon, however, we find ourselves descending the mountain again, and slowly dropping into the underworld. Here we are faced with the reality that we cannot stay at the summit forever. It is our destiny to rise and to descend again. Here we are entering into the sunless valley. We are faced with the other side of light and abundance. The pain, the darkness, the discomfort. Down and down we descend until we reach the bottom. The river of blood that moves us deep into the earth. Here we are held in the bones of the earth. In the quiet darkness that is the nursery for new life. Here we are stripped bare, naked, and woven anew. Out of these dark chambers we emerge once again into the light of dawn. A new day. A new journey upwards. And so it begins again. On and on. Our life is a journey of many little deaths and births. Of all the ways we have been brought down to our knees, soaked in sweat. Tears coming until they can’t come anymore. And all the ways we have risen up to the light. So high that it feels like the roots of the earth can’t hold us anymore. So deep into pleasure, joy, ecstasy.
Those are the pains and pleasures of life. The seemingly dual, yet interwoven aspects of life itself. And the medicine of the womb.
With each emergence, there is wisdom gained, there is growth embodied, there is love remembered.
This cycle is an initiation then, for every month we rise to reach our highest selves and sacrifice her again into a rebirth. The initiation into the blood mysteries is sacred. It has been met over timeless centuries with reverence and holiness. A woman on her bleed is the visionary. Sensitive to the non-physical layers of existence that communes with spirit. This time carries spirit power. Potent and divine. It is the power of the earth and heavens infused into form. Ovulation brings the power of creation. To grow and birth life. To be the channel through which a spirit may take form. When we hold these rhythms as sacred they are remembered for their intelligence. The temple of a woman’s body that brings life and carries it away. In this way woman is priestess. The carrier of the torch of light. The steward for creation.
Wholeness is reclaimed as the womb is integrated into the entirety of the being and her rhythms are brought up into conscious awareness. When these rhythms are honoured and embodied. A girl becomes the woman. The woman becomes priestess. Fully in her power. In her Truth. Coming back to the seat of the womb is reclaiming the sacredness of her as an integral part of us. The makeup of our beings. Where many have tried to taint and tarnish these holy cycles, remembering them in their truth is an act of recovery and deep healing. Healing through a long lineage of forgotten or restrained power. And so the floodgates are opened and we are invited to take it all back. Howl at the moon and bleed upon the earth. Woman.
The life/death/rebirth cycle living in the womb is an embrace of these inseparable aspects of life. this rhythm we flow through nourishes one fully and opens as a doorway into deeper embodiment, deeper spiritual experiences, deeper into heart. It is the womb as guide that shines the light in otherwise lost and aimless spaces. The womb as teacher reminds us of all that we really are beyond the labels, identities, expectations. She is a mirror for us to gaze deeper into ourselves, and be anointed with her mysteries. Womb then is a gatekeeper, the one who asks, “Are you ready to face yourself?” “Are you ready to claim your power?”
For a heart centred in these cycles is a heart in harmony within and without. Through and through. There is alignment beyond perfection. This doesn’t mean that all is smooth, easeful and joyous all the time. Oh no, the medicine of womb carries both light and dark. Love and pain. Embodiment within these spaces means that all are felt, honoured and witnessed in truth. it is standing at the foot of the dark waters of the soul and gazing upon your own reflection? Do you love and embrace all that you see swimming within those depths? It is you.
So much ancient wisdom to embody here Marina told through beautiful language and words. It’s a rhythmic dance through words that I fully appreciate. I have recently started working with womb medicine with a friend of my and have been gifted with the most beautiful of journeys that I look forward to continuing to explore. 💫🙏
