Hello dear ones, welcome sweetly to this months herbal and mythic newsletter! I am excited to bring into this space the humble presence of the mushroom relatives, specifically, Turkey Tail. They are allies that have been calling out to me all winter, drawing me deep into their wondrous bands of colour, their soft velvety form, their communal growth. I have an oxymel of their powerful medicine brewing on my counter as we speak…which I share the recipe for below! They have been a warm friend that has stayed close to me in the otherwise quiet days of winter, where life seems to dwindle to an imperceptible hum. They endure. They remind us of the life that still flows through the veins of the earth. Of the life that flows through our own veins. This is my ode to their gentle and welcoming presence. the silent ones, that sing the ancient songs.
