This is beautifully written. To witness and partake in the death that sustains our life is humbling and profound, and wholesome indeed, to connect so intimately with the land and cycles of life that we are all part of. "I eat you and you eat me." Perfect. <3

What a BEAUTIFUL read Marija 🤍🤍🤍 Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also, thank you for takINg us on a visual journey with you! As a Woman who was a vegan for 10 years, who started eatINg meat agaIN 2+ years ago Now, who IS still gettINg IN right relationship with meat and who Will have a homestead with Her Family IN the foreseeable Future, thIS resonates sooooo deeply. Once upon a time, not so long ago, WE All Lived IN such close, and RECIPROCAL relationship with ALL of the Food that WE ate, ANIMAls INcluded. WE INtentionally tended to and cared for the Land and the ANIMAls. WE INtentionally harvested the Land and brought those ANIMAls to their Death. WE INtentionally respected, revered and consumed EVERY part of those ANIMAls, from head to tail, not just "prized" pieces. The different textures of their full form a familiar experience ... not a foreign One. I often muse upon how modern digestive dis-ease IS by and large caused by disconnection from food Source. How can somethINg BE nutritionally BIOavailable to us, if WE are completely disconnected from wHere, what and more importantly, WHO it comes from? How can somethINg enLiven us, if WE are completely disconnected from it's aLiveness? An animistic orientation to Life IS always askINg WHO AM I relating to? Rather than, WHAT AM I relating to? BEcause no-thINg IS an INANIMATE object. EverythINg (EVERYONE) IS personified, BEcause everythINg IS aLive, BEcause everythINg IS ANIMA. So much Love and respect for you Sister! 🤍🤍🤍

Snaps all around for this <3 Indeed, we are living in a world that has spirit infused in everything. From a freshly fallen leave on the ground to a raven to the luminous colours of a sunset. It is the beauty of being alive to witness it all in its humble glory and bow to the invitation to be a part of it all. It is our embrace of the land that reminds us of these reciprocal relationships we may weave with all of our relatives. Seeing how many resources we may receive directly from the land, how our very hands may weave magic upon her grounds, how all our hearts sing the same song. Animal stewardship is one of those things a lot of us are coming back to after running away from the blood that inevitably falls upon hands in right relationship with the earth. Embracing the grimy, bloody, dirt in finger nails life of the TRULY wild hearted. Love to you and thank you for such a beautifully thorough resonance.

AMEN, Sister. So Perfectly, and poetically put 🤍 OverAll, I see us a collective gettINg IN right relationship with Blood and tHerefore Life and tHerefore Death All together, IN so many different, yet related Ways. From menstrual Blood, to Birth Blood, to battle Blood, to ANIMAl Blood. WE are rememberINg that Blood IS not a horror, it IS an Honor. WE are unlearnINg the automation of LOOKING AWAY and BEINg averted by the sight and smell of Blood (of any and All kINds) and re-learnINg how to connect with the mystery and Miracle of Blood. WE are rememberINg that Blood IS somethINg worth respectINg and reverINg. I reckon the sanitization of their own comINg INto the World (Birth) was the Birthplace of thIS aversion for many people.

mmm, potent thoughts. I love that reminder of ALL sorts of blood we may be in relationship with. And our very birth as being the initial doorway into how we relate to it all. So beautiful. Yet all those stories can rewoven anew as we choose to accept our animal selves as a part of our divinity. Here's to the embrace of a WHOLEsome life again. To remembering our holy paths as a part of - and not separate to - the land.

Wow watching your evolution over the past few years is really amazing, the maturity and presence it takes to be able to witness this is profound. You are a true gift to your family and community with all the skills you are learning and weaving. I know this will change you for the better.

I don't have a recipe but I know you can make liver pate, freeze it and then start to incorporate in meals. This is a goal of mine to incorporate this year. As Noah nears the time when he will eat solids I am educating myself on what to prepare, knowing that it will be ancestral foods first.

Such a gift to be seen in the ways you have seen me upon my journey. Thank you for your devoted presence. It is knowledge that was always meant to be, only took time to find its way into embodiment. Such is the journey. Love you darling sister.

And ouhhh yes this is a good idea. It's a nice way to slowly integrate the taste too. Will be trying that next time, because I must say, the taste is challenging for me..or maybe the texture...or perhaps knowing they are organs. My taste buds and mind need to acclimate hehe. Thank you for that!

I think its the texture that is off-putting. I am excited to try this way as well as I am committing to more organ meats!! Particularly Nourishing in this postpartum season as well, but really for all people all the time.
